The Estrella District was officially established as an AVA
in 2014 as one of the eleven Paso Robles Districts,
located on the north and east side, up against the
foothills. While the Greater Paso Robles AVA was
established thirty-one years previously in 1983, the
Estrella District was becoming known more than a
century earlier, right after California became the 31st
state in 1850.”
