"WHY BORDEAUX FRANCE?
Well, it all started because Bordeaux, for me, is the center of the universe for wine. I see this to be very real. The world grows Bordeaux grapes. Not Bordeaux grows other country’s grapes. Not at all! Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the two primary grapes of Bordeaux, are the two most planted grapes around the world. Wineries bottle and blend these grapes with huge success. Look at Napa Valley California. Their success is all about Bordeaux varietals. What is Napa without Cabernet Sauvignon? Australia, South Africa and Chile are also good examples. Look at the phenomenal success Argentina has had with Malbec, another one of the six Bordeaux red grape varietals. I could go on and on. All these grapes originally came from Bordeaux France. How can you love wine and not want to visit the mecca?"
